Physical Activity and Redox Balance in the Elderly: Signal Transduction Mechanisms

چکیده
Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) are molecules naturally produced by cells. If their levels too high, the cellular antioxidant machinery intervenes to bring back quantity physiological conditions. Since aging often induces malfunctioning in this machinery, ROS considered an effective cause of age-associated diseases. Exercise stimulates production on one side, and systems other side. The effects exercise oxidative stress markers have been shown blood, vascular tissue, brain, cardiac skeletal muscle, both young aged people. However, intensity volume individual subject characteristics important envisage future strategies adequately personalize balance oxidant/antioxidant environment. Here, we reviewed literature that deals with physical activity redox people, insights into molecular mechanisms involved. Although many pathways involved, still far from a comprehensive view stand behind during aging. believe precision medicine will be able transform administration wellness targeted prevention, as yet admit topic is its infancy.

متن کاملFatigue after physical activity in healthy and balance-impaired elderly.
This study aimed to determine whether physical activity similar to daily living results in signs and sensations of fatigue in healthy old, balance-impaired old, and healthy young adults. Sensations of general tiredness, leg tiredness, knee-extension and hip-abduction strength, and temporospatial gait variables were measured before, immediately after, and up to 20 min after moderate-intensity ph...
متن کاملPrevious Physical Activity and Body Balance in Elderly People
The purpose of the research was to evaluate the efficiency of body balance regulation in the elderly and verify whether physical activity in adolescence could influence later physical efficiency. Research was carried out on 62 persons aged between 65 and 96 years of age. Fifty people declared that they undertook physical activity in adolescence, while 12 reported no activity. Stabilographic exa...

Introduction Good weather and a pint of apple juice (although we thought we had ordered beer) at a farmhouse opposite the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) heralded the start of the 15th conference on ‘Oncogenes & Growth Control’. The participants had the opportunity to enjoy the friendly atmosphere at the EMBL, the hospitality of the staff and the tasty food. And of course, a series...
